In the present time in the sphere manufacture of SMPS, AC/DC and DC/DC converters are used popular and wide known for instance FD27XX Family of Isolated Error Amplifiers (Fairchild Semiconductor Corporation).
See below short description of known product: the FD2743 Isolated Error Amplifier consists of the popular KA431 precision programmable shunt reference and an optocoupler. The optocoupler is a gallium arsenide (GaAs) light emitting diode optically coupled to a silicon phototransistor. It is primarily intended for use as the error amplifier/reference voltage/optocoupler function in isolated SMPS, AC/DC and DC/DC converters.
In the present time these units meet all requirements of development manufacture of SMPS, AC/DC and DC/DC converters, in spite of this, units have some disadvantages: This unit requires large place on the PCB at assembly of accompanying components (approximately to 15%). Complex schematics of SMPS, AC/DC and DC/DC converters, therefore not reliable.
New Isolated Error Amplifier combines the functional equivalent of Precision Programmable Shunt Regulator and new optocoupler in a compact 8-pin small outline package.

This unit do not requires large place on the PCB (approximately smaller up to 15%) at assembly and do not use accompanying components.
